There are always great events taking place around North Wales and in winter there is a whole host of Christmas events for you to attend.
There are many Christmas Festivals taking place around North Wales this season as we move closer to Christmas.
The Llandudno Christmas Fayre has come and gone. It took place from Thursday the 21st of November to Sunday the 24th of November. It was a huge success attracting huge crowds with all the wonderful stalls and now it is Portmeirion’s turn.
There are many smaller markets and fayres around the whole of North Wales but the Llandudno Christmas Fayre and the Portmerion Christmas Festival are two of the biggest and best!
This year the annual Christmas Festival in Portmeirion will take place on Saturday the 7th of December and Sunday the 8th of December. This is far more than just a Christmas market as over the years it has become known as one of the very top Food and Craft festivals in North Wales.
The Festival showcases a huge range of the best Welsh food and craft products from all the different regions of North Wales. The produce is of the freshest quality and is locally produced here in Wales.
Last year the festival attracted close to 3000 people and had 50 producers showcasing their wares and 2013 is planned to be even bigger with 75 exhibitors booked!
It is well worth attending this fantastic event and seeing the town of Portmeirion as it is a top tourist destination for Wales. Portmeririon is unique as it is styled on a Mediterranean town but set in the beautiful, green landscape of North Wales. It is also well known for being the location for the filming of 1960s TV show the prisoner. There is a luxury spa, plenty of dining choices, cultivated gardens and coastal areas.
Portmeirion hosts a range of festivals, concerts and unique events throughout the year.
