"Truly one of a kind!"
Ty Gwyn is one of a kind! How many houses do you know of that’s drive is a beach and if the tide is in, you can only access it by walking there? This truly remarkable, former oyster catcher’s cottage is full of character and history and we are delighted that the owners have now turned it into a holiday cottage. The views from the house are spell binding,on my first visit to Ty Gwyn I counted three seals bobbing in and out of the water just twenty meters away! This isn’t necessarily a house to book if you are looking for a modern property with all mod cons but this is absolutely the right house if you want to get back to enjoying your family time, with days on the beach and bbqs in the evening with not a screen or an ipad in sight! Trust me, this will be one of the best holidays you’ve had, unplug, relax and unwind in the most glorious of settings!
Rhoscolyn, for those in the know, is without doubt the hidden gem of Anglesey. An enclosed bay, a lovely small beach and a pub that does great food. Located on the North Westerly side of Anglesey between Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr the scenery here is stunning. Ty Gwyn is located on Borthwen Beach which is accessed down a narrow road which tends to help keep the crowds away! At the top of the hill is ‘The White Eagle’ just 10 mins walk from the beach, a well known pub on the island that serves excellent food.
Sitting room – Open plan with the dining area. Views out to the sea. Comfy seating for guests with sofas and cushioned window seats. There is an open fire in this room for those winter nights!
Dining room – Open plan dining room. Dining table and seating for 8 people (Comfy for 6 but 8 can fit!)
Kitchen – The kitchen is basic but has everything needed. There is an AGA, Microwave, Fridge Freezer and a small breakfast table. There is a separate utility space that houses a washing machine.
Bedrooms – Four bedrooms that are all on one level. One Kingsize bedroom. One twin bedroom and two double bedrooms.
Bathrooms - The main bathroom is located off the kitchen. This consists of WC, hand basin, towel rail and a bath. There is also a small shower room located off one of the bedroom corridors that has a shower, WC and hand basin.
Outside – A large lawned area to the back and side of the cottage. There is access directly onto the beach from the front of the property.
Parking: Because of the location of the property it is only possible to load and unload at the cottage. However there is private off road parking 5 mins walk away and parking in the beach public car park.
Heating: An open log fire and electric heaters.
Good to know: An initial supply of logs and coal is provided. Instructions on where to purchase more will be in your arrival email. Please check the tidal times as certain times of the day the house is not accessible by car because the sea covers the car access!
